How Tennessee Football Became an NFL Power Source NHL.com

A new study suggests the Tennessee Titans football team was once a major contender in the NFL.

In an attempt to understand why, the NFL’s top brass looked at data from a variety of sources to compile its own rankings.

“We’re a bit like a lot of the other teams in the league,” Tennessee head coach Derek Dooley told NHL.

“We’re just a little bit better than everybody else.”

The Titans were No. 1 in terms of average points per game and total points scored per game, according to data compiled by the league office.

They ranked second in the conference in points per drive (6.6) and third in rushing touchdowns (10).

They ranked third in scoring defense (19.4 points per play).

The Titans finished with the No. 2 rushing offense in the nation.

That was despite a defense that was the league’s third-worst in 2016.

The Titans also ranked fifth in total offense and scoring defense.

They also ranked eighth in total yards per play.

That included a rushing offense that ranked eighth, and a defense ranked fifth.

The league office said Tennessee’s rushing attack ranked second only to New England.

The Titans had the second-highest rushing total (2,818) and the third-highest scoring offense (1,847).
