NFL playoff games will be played on Sunday, Dec. 17

With only three weeks left in the season, the NFL has started to look toward the postseason, with only three games remaining, including the final one for the postseason.

The first two games of the playoffs are scheduled for Sunday night, Dec 18 and Sunday night Dec. 21.

With the game at New Orleans, the second game will be the winner of the Atlanta-Baltimore game on Thursday night, Jan. 2.

The playoff picture is clear, but the NFL is still working out a few wrinkles in the schedule.

For instance, the NFC South will play four games this year, but three of those games will only be played at home, with a rematch of last year’s NFC Championship Game in Atlanta to be played this year.

The NFC North will play three games, the AFC South two and the AFC West one.

In terms of home field advantage, the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons are set to play in the Super Bowl, with the New Orleans Saints facing the Indianapolis Colts and the New York Giants playing the Oakland Raiders in the first round of the postseason on Sunday night.

The schedule for the playoffs will be released in the coming weeks, with many teams expected to announce their matchups at the beginning of January.
