How Kentucky State Football got back on track after its injury woes

KENTUCKY, Ky.

— The Kentucky State football program is back on the field, with a win over South Carolina Saturday in a college football bowl game.

The Wildcats’ victory over the Gamecocks, who have lost five straight, is their fifth straight in bowl games.

The Gamecock defense had seven sacks in the win, which gives them 14 in their last 20 games.

The Wildcats are 8-0 in bowl seasons.

This was the third straight bowl win for Kentucky State, who defeated No. 6 Georgia State 31-7 on Saturday.

The Gamecocked won that game, 27-24, in the third round of the SEC championship game.

The win over Kentucky also snapped a nine-game losing streak against the Wildcats.

The win gives Kentucky State its fifth straight bowl victory, which includes a season-opening victory over Auburn on Oct. 11.

The Bulldogs were also in the national championship game last season.

The next bowl game is Dec. 3 in Phoenix, Ariz.
